Developing our links with the local community

Wheatley Park School is committed to developing opportunities for and links with the local community.
We have offered opportunities for parents, grandparents, friends of the school and the local community as a result of the sponsorship from our specialist arts status.
Over the past few years, Wheatley Park School has offered the following creative opportunities for the local community:-

  • Short courses for adults in printmaking and drama
  • Performances by visiting theatre companies
  • School productions, exhibitions and concerts
  • Life drawing classes
  • Space for local creative groups
  • Creative projects with partner primary schools
  • Summer school

Recently, students from Wheatley Park School have also represented the school in local, regional & national creative community projects including:-

  • Christmas Night Light
  • Artweeks
  • St Frideswide Civic Service
  • The Tree of Light

To become involved with Wheatley Park School, you do not need to have a connection with the school and will be very welcome to come to our events & courses and meet some of our students and staff.

Details of future opportunities will be advertised on the school website, in village newsletters and on village notice boards.

For more information about any Arts event or getting involved in our Arts community projects, please contact Mellie Budge, Community Arts Manager on 01865 872441 on ext. 118.
