Friends of Wheatley Park
About the Friends of Wheatley Park
The 'Friends' aims to support the School through fundraising and social events. Money raised is given to the school for the benefit of the students in the form of grants, equipment and those extras for which the school does not receive funding.
The PTA is open to all parents and carers of students at Wheatley Park School. In view of the wide catchment area of the school, we are particularly keen to involve parents from all of the many small villages in the area.
For the remainder of this school year, the 'Friends' is raising funds mainly to provide a new Leisure Area on the large playground, which we want to have in place for next spring and summer. As well as this, we will continue to fund the many varied requests for grants from gardening gloves to microscopes, author visits to murals.
Please support our events and buy a drink at our bars!

Developing our links with the local community
Wheatley Park School is committed to developing opportunities for and links with the local community.
We have offered opportunities for parents, grandparents, friends of the school and the local community as a result of the sponsorship from our specialist arts status.
Over the past few years, Wheatley Park School has offered the following creative opportunities for the local community:-
- Short courses for adults in printmaking and drama
- Performances by visiting theatre companies
- School productions, exhibitions and concerts
- Life drawing classes
- Space for local creative groups
- Creative projects with partner primary schools
- Summer school
Recently, students from Wheatley Park School have also represented the school in local, regional & national creative community projects including:-
- Christmas Night Light
- St Frideswide Civic Service
- The Tree of Light
To become involved with Wheatley Park School, you do not need to have a connection with the school and will be very welcome to come to our events & courses and meet some of our students and staff.
Details of future opportunities will be advertised on the school website, in village newsletters and on village notice boards.
