Happy School

We pride ourselves on being a happy school where young people learn to build positive relationships. The atmosphere is often described as "friendly". Social time is important to us all and we encourage strong friendships.

The Moat

Our site is exceptional and provides beautiful natural environments. We have historic listed buildings, many mature trees in a lovely parkland setting. Our historic moat and island provide interesting natural habitats and an unusually beautiful setting appreciated by the students.

100 Voices

In February 2011 100 Voices sang "Higher and Higher" to celebrate our school's progress the achievements of staff and students.

Relationships

Relationships between staff and students are strong. Teachers take time to get to know students as individuals. We aim to find out what motivates every young person and to foster their talents. Teacher student relationships are based strongly on mutual respect and common purpose.

Photography

Photography is a growing strength. Many of our sixth form students enjoy developing their creativity through the study of photography. Our school is rich in images which support the ethos and celebrate student success.

School Day

Students at Wheatley Park normally have five lessons each day as well as starting the day with their form tutor. We keep the atmosphere purposeful and focused as students move around the busy campus.

Learning Comes First

Our first priority at Wheatley Park is to make sure that learning is enjoyable, engaging and provides the right degree of challenge for every young person. There are many opportunities for students to work collaboratively and to take their learning further.

Tailored Learning

We aim to plan for every learners needs.Teachers and support staff are encouraged to recognise that every child is unique. In our lesson planning and delivery and in our feedback to students we aim to treat everyone as an individual.

The Old House

Home of the Arts at Wheatley Park School.

Art, Drama, Music and Photography are taught in this very special Georgian mansion originally built as a family home.

The rooms are light and airy and the main staircase is ideal for displaying art work.

Group Working

Group working and collaboration feature strongly. Every year we hold Big Learning Days which provide wonderful opportunities for creative projects involving many different groups of pupils. We see creativity as a key learning skill and it influences the whole curriculum.

Soul Band

Musical talent abounds in our school, and we are proud of our soul band.

Celebrating Success

Special celebration events feature regularly.

Frisbee

There is plenty of space for games in the school grounds.

Rugby

Sport is for everyone at Wheatley Park.

Friendship
